The Lost Second Season... "and that's the rest of the story."

Above, you'll find some of the footage from our lost second season that never "aired". (Can you call it "airing" when it's only on YouTube? I don't think so...)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy some of the California footage above. I had no time at all to make it into anything proper or professional. But I hated the thought that we spent all that time filming in California and the footage was just sitting there going to waste. I didn't even touch a tenth of it, but at least it's something!

We were there before Star Tours opened and when The Enchanted Tiki Room was still the only original show. (It's since been restored at Walt Disney World.)

The truth is...

Downtown Disney - Living Statues, Lively Music and the Best Place to Watch a Thunderstorm

You're going to start seeing two categories of videos from us now that we live in Orlando. The first is the kind you are accustomed to, our produced videos with scripts and sound equipment where we make with the jokes.

The second will be anything we happen to find interesting while out and about and want to capture with our iPhones. To inaugurate these new candid videos, we bring you several videos from Downtown Disney yesterday.

One of the reasons why I am completely enamored with Orlando is that you can drive to Downtown Disney anytime and take in plenty of inspiration for free. There are always several street performances happening all at once. A few nights ago we happened upon two string quartets. One was playing modern pop music, the other was dressed as a traditional French Renaissance quartet.

Yesterday we were enjoying watching the living statues playfully engage the crowd outside the Soundstage Club.

If you were wondering what the music was that you were hearing in the background, it was this guy. I didn't manage to get his card so I can't link to his info just yet. But I will in the very near future. Doesn't listening to it just make you want to sword-fight or duel or buy some castanets?

Then there was Dominic Gaudious, the didjiridoo-playing funk musician. (At least, that's how he sounded to me. All I know is that my mother is going to absolutely worship him.) My favorite thing about his music was that the kids watching COULD NOT HELP but boogie down. (My favorite is the kid at the 3:40 mark and the same kid at around 4:20. I would take lessons from that little Lord of the Dance.) I panned over to them several times, but there is something about his music that just speaks to every kid's inner John Travolta. And I LOVE that.

Pardon the aspect ratio, I hadn't yet realized that I needed to turn my iPhone the other way yet. (And yes, if you listen very carefully you can hear the previous musician playing an acoustic version of The Godfather theme before Dominic starts playing. How much does that rock?)

There was also some soothing latin jazz happening on the patio at this restaurant called BONGOS and another acoustic musician named Mitch Corbin. But the point here, essentially, is that Downtown Disney is one of those really fun areas that we didn't anticipate wanting to spend so much time in. Yet we keep finding ourselves drawn back in.

We only went to Downtown Disney last night to inquire about getting annual passes to all the parks. When we found out that they were going to cost half of what we thought they were, well needless to say, we ended up in the Magic Kingdom last night. We wanted to check out the new line and the new special effects at the end of The Haunted Mansion. When we arrived for the line, it was as if Mother Nature herself agreed that we had come to the right place. She threw us a lovely atmospheric thunderstorm that made us feel like we were in the opening credits to Clue.

When we exited, it was still storming, so we scampered on over to The Hall of Presidents which made Jake feel very much like Sam Eagle, the patriotic muppet.

A typical new day in the life of Jake and Audrey? One can only hope...
